Paper Rally Privacy Policy
Last updated 27 October 2026. Paper Rally is made by Chaotic Phoenix (contact@chaoticphoenix.com).
Paper Rally collects no personal data. It has no ads and no analytics, and it doesn't use the internet. Online play, in this version of the game, keeps your account and your games on your phone too (below).
What stays on your phone
The game keeps, on your phone only:
- your settings (music and sound effects and their volumes, vibration, the controls, the display, the language);
- your progress: races finished and won, the pencils they unlocked, your best time trials and their ghost lines;
- a race left mid-way, so it can be continued, the race you set up last, and how far you zoomed in;
- the tracks you draw in the track editor;
- online play's account and games (below).
Nothing of this is sent to us or to anyone else. Uninstalling the game deletes it, and SETTINGS > RESET PROGRESS erases the progress, the race kept and your tracks (your settings, the zoom and your online account stay).
Online play
ONLINE lets you race other players one turn at a time. In this version of the game it runs on a test server inside the game itself, on your phone: you sign in with a name you choose (no password, no email address), and your account, your name and your online games are kept in two files beside the game's save, on your phone only. Nothing goes over the internet, to us or to anyone. The players you meet there (Pencil Pete, Crayon Kate and Inky Ivo) are practice players the game runs itself.
DELETE ACCOUNT (in ONLINE > ACCOUNT, or in SETTINGS) deletes your account and your name: your open challenges end, the races you're in count as resigned, and in the games that go on your name shows as "Deleted player". Uninstalling the game deletes all of it too. How to delete an account is also on https://chaoticphoenix.com/paperrally-delete-account.
When online play moves to a real server, so that you can race your friends on their own phones, this policy will say what that server keeps, where and for how long, before that version of the game is out.
Android backup
Android can back up the game's save with your Google account, so your progress comes back on a new phone or after a reinstall. That backup is Android's own, run by Google under Google's privacy policy; we never see it. You can turn it off in your phone's settings (Google > Backup).
When you contact us
SETTINGS > CONTACT US opens your own email app with a message to contact@chaoticphoenix.com, with the game's version and your phone's model filled in. Nothing is sent unless you send that email yourself; we use what you write only to answer you.
Sharing tracks
SHARE in the track editor copies a track's code (its shape and obstacles, and the name you gave it) to your phone's clipboard. Where it goes from there is up to you.
Permissions
The game asks Android for one permission: to vibrate, for the haptics (you can turn them off in SETTINGS). It doesn't ask for internet access.
Children
The game is suitable for everyone and collects nothing from anyone, children included.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be on this page with its date.
