Snake X 2048 Privacy Policy
Last updated 27 October 2026
In short: Snake X 2048 collects no personal data itself. It has no accounts of its own and no analytics, and your progress and settings stay on your phone. Two things involve Google, and both are your choice: you can sign in to Google Play Games, for leaderboards, achievements and a copy of your progress in your Google account; and you can choose to watch an ad, for one more power-up or a second chance in ENDLESS and RUSH, or for a hint or a skip in the levels, and Google's ad service then receives some data about your device.
Who we are
Snake X 2048 is made by Chaotic Phoenix, an independent game developer. You can reach us at contact@chaoticphoenix.com.
What the game keeps on your device
To remember your progress, the game saves one file on your device with:
- your settings: music and sound effects on or off and their volumes, vibration, the controls (hold and drag, drag speed, move hints, left-handed, one-handed), the display (text size, high contrast, reduce flashing, screen shake, reduce effects, frame rate, showing the frame rate), and the snake skin you wear,
- your progress: your best scores (endless, rush, and today's daily challenge with its date), the runs you're in the middle of, so you can carry on with them later, the stars you've won on each level and each day's puzzle, the levels you've skipped, your achievements and the counts they're earned by (such as the biggest number you've made), your daily streak, whether you've played the lessons and seen how to play, and when you last reset your progress.
Uninstalling the game deletes the file. RESET PROGRESS in Settings deletes your progress but keeps your settings.
Android's backup
The game lets Android back its file up, so your progress comes back when you reinstall the game or move to a new phone. Whether this happens is up to you and your phone: if you have turned on backup in Android's settings, Android keeps a copy of the file in your Google account, encrypted, under Google's privacy policy. The game itself sends nothing for it; we never see the copy, and you can turn backup off or delete it in your phone's and your Google account's settings.
Google Play Games
Where the game has Google Play Games (Settings › ABOUT says so), it signs you in to it when you start the game if your phone is set up for Play Games, or when you tap SIGN IN. Signed in:
- Google tells the game your Play Games player ID and name, so it can save for you and show your scores.
- The game keeps a copy of your progress (as listed above, without your settings) in your Google account through Play Games' saved games, and reads it back, so your progress follows you to another phone. It sends it after a run, when you leave a game or the app, after RESET PROGRESS, and when you tap CLOUD SAVE.
- Your scores go to the game's leaderboards (endless, the daily challenge and rush), and the achievements you earn are unlocked in Play Games. Other players may see your scores and achievements with your Play Games name, as your Play Games profile settings allow.
Google handles all of this under its privacy policy and the Play Games settings in your Google account, where you can see and delete your Play Games data. If you don't sign in, the game sends nothing to Play Games and everything works on your phone alone.
The ads you can choose to watch
You can watch a video ad (a "rewarded ad") at these moments, and only if you want to:
- in ENDLESS and RUSH, when you've used a power-up (UNDO, SHED or BOMB), for one more of it, once each per run,
- in ENDLESS and RUSH, on the game over card, for a SECOND CHANCE: the last few moves taken back, once a run,
- in a level or today's puzzle, for a HINT: the next few moves shown on the board (free in the first three lessons),
- on a level's card once you've failed it three times in a row, to SKIP it and open the next.
Those are the game's only ads: no banners, nothing that interrupts your play, and you never have to watch one. There are none on the daily challenge. Without an internet connection no ad can be shown, so nothing is given.
The ads come from Google AdMob. The game asks Google for an ad only when you tap one of those offers; it doesn't load ads in the background while you play. To find and show the ad, Google's ad software in the game sends Google:
- your device's advertising ID (or app set ID),
- your IP address, from which an approximate location can be worked out,
- information about your device and the game, such as the model, system version and language,
- how you interact with the ad, and diagnostic information if something goes wrong,
- where your phone has them, Android's Privacy Sandbox ad signals: a few broad interest topics Android works out on the phone itself, and ad measurement.
Google uses it to show and measure the ad, limit how often you see the same one and prevent fraud, and to personalise ads only where you have agreed. Google may also share it with the advertising companies it works with to choose and show the ad (its ad partners): where the game shows Google's consent form (below), the form lists them, and your choices there apply to them too. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland the game asks for your choice about personalised ads with Google's consent form, and you can change it at any time under AD PRIVACY in the game's Settings. You can also reset your advertising ID or turn off personalised ads in your phone's settings. How Google handles this data: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Buttons that open other apps
Some buttons leave the game, and only when you tap them:
- PRIVACY POLICY opens this page in your browser.
- CONTACT US opens your email app with a new message to us. It fills in the game's name, version and build, your phone's model and Android version, and the game engine's version, so we can help with a problem. You see all of it, and can change or delete it, before you decide whether to send it. If you send it, we use your email only to answer you, and delete it if you ask.
- RATE THE GAME opens the game's page on Google Play.
- LEADERBOARDS and ACHIEVEMENTS open Google Play Games' own screens, when you're signed in.
What happens there is up to your browser, your email app, Google Play and Google Play Games, under their own privacy policies.
Permissions
The game asks Android to vibrate your phone, for a tick as the snake moves and a buzz as numbers merge (you can turn vibration off in Settings), and to use the internet and the advertising ID, only for the ads and Google Play Games above. It reads nothing else from your phone.
Things the game doesn't do
- It doesn't ask for your name, email, location, contacts or photos.
- It uses no analytics or tracking of its own.
- The daily challenge is the same for everyone because it's dealt from the date, not fetched from anywhere.
- We don't sell any data, and we hold none about you.
Google Play
You get Snake X 2048 through Google Play, which Google runs under its own privacy policy. We may see the anonymous, aggregated statistics Google Play gives every developer (such as installs and crash reports).
Changes to the game
If a future version adds something else that handles data, we will update this policy before that version is released and say here what it handles and why. Where the law asks for your consent, the game will ask first.
Children
Snake X 2048 is meant for players aged 13 and over, not for children under 13. The game itself collects no personal data from anyone.
Your rights
Under data protection laws such as the GDPR you may ask what data we hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted. The game collects none itself, so we hold none, except an email you have sent us yourself, which we delete on request. For what Google holds for Play Games and its ad service, see Google's links above. Write to contact@chaoticphoenix.com.
